Children deserve interventions that honor their voice and autonomy. This session focuses on how to gain assent during interventions in ways that are ethical, respectful, and effective. Participants will learn to recognize vocal and nonverbal cues signaling assent or dissent, balance high expectations with choice, and create environments where children feel safe and motivated to participate. Key strategies include fostering trust, collaboration, and proactive engagement with children who have complex needs. Attendees will leave equipped with practical tools to strengthen relationships and promote early learning success through inclusive, consent-based practices.
