About me
Dr. Heather Kennedy is an Assistant Professor of Teacher Education at Southern Utah University, where she teaches classes in the areas of special education, math education, school leadership, and secondary education instructional strategies. Dr. Kennedy has almost 20 years of experience in PreK-12 public education. During this time, Dr. Kennedy served as a general education teacher and special education teacher for elementary, middle, and high school students. Dr. Kennedy also served as an Assistant Principal overseeing special education in a rural school district. Dr. Kennedy's research focuses on teacher self-efficacy, middle school math, inclusive practices, co-teaching, and effective teaching practices for students with disabilities in general education classrooms. Dr. Kennedy enjoys translating research into practice and uses her extensive classroom experience to empower parents, educators, and students.
