About me
Dr. Nichole Wangsgard is a full professor in the College of Education and Human Development at Southern Utah University, where they design and lead undergraduate and graduate programs preparing educators for licensure in Special Education. In 2015, Dr. Wangsgard launched a Bachelor of Science in Special Education program with an emphasis in Autism.
With a background as a special education teacher and department chair, Dr. Wangsgard brings both research and real-world practice to their work. Their scholarship focuses on autism, special education law, assessment, reading motivation, professional learning communities, classroom and behavior supports, and inclusive practices for students with mild to moderate disabilities. They actively publish and collaborate with school districts and educators nationwide to improve outcomes for all learners.
